Brine Valorisation Project
ChemSmart Technologies × Archetype Project Consultants JV | Erongo Region, Namibia
THE PROBLEM
Namibia’s green hydrogen and mining sectors require massive desalination capacity along the Erongo coast. The resulting hypersaline brine, projected to reach 23 to 30 million m³ per year, is currently discharged into the Northern Benguela marine system. This dense concentrate sinks to the seabed, worsens existing low oxygen conditions, and increases the risk of toxic hydrogen sulphide events that damage fisheries and marine ecosystems.
THE SOLUTION
We are developing an integrated brine processing facility that repositions desalination reject brine as a strategic industrial feedstock. Using staged selective precipitation, membrane separation, and controlled crystallisation, the plant will recover valuable minerals and convert them into five product streams for construction, agriculture, energy storage, and emerging battery supply chains.

VeriFuel
In house digital product | Blockchain based green fuel certification
THE PROBLEM
As Namibia scales green hydrogen and ammonia production for export, producers will need to prove the sustainability credentials of every unit they sell. International buyers, particularly under the EU’s regulatory framework, require verified guarantees of origin, auditable carbon intensity data, and end to end chain of custody documentation. Without credible digital tools, Namibian producers risk being locked out of premium markets.
THE SOLUTION
VeriFuel is a blockchain based traceability and certification platform designed to give Namibian hydrogen and ammonia producers a locally built, internationally compliant digital verification system. The platform is intended to track carbon intensity from production through to delivery, generate digital guarantees of origin, and support compliance with EU and global sustainability certification standards.
